CONNECT
EVERYONE is welcome at CONNECT!
Our weekly CONNECT program is Epiphany’s year-round space to grow in our Catholic faith, in friendship, and service. Together with fellow parishioners, you’ll explore church teaching, theological perspectives, and the rich spiritual traditions of our Catholic heritage.
CONNECT brings together three dynamic groups:
IGNITE – Epiphany Young Adults
MILLENN-X – Millennials & Gen-Xers
SEEKERS – Our senior wisdom sisters & brothers
Each evening begins with fellowship around a delicious, free, home-cooked meal. Then, the groups rotate through one of three experiences:
Prayer, faith-sharing, or worship
Faith formation presentations with synodal discussion, led by Fr. Jim Mayzik SJ, Faith Formation Director Samuel Newton, or a guest speaker
Member-led presentations, where participants share their own insights and experiences
At CONNECT you’ll enjoy community, deepen your faith, and open yourself to the surprising ways the Holy Spirit works in our lives.
Meeting God in the Dark
Meeting God in the Dark is a film series that explores the spiritual and Christian themes of narrative and documentary films from around the world. Each gathering includes an introduction to the filmmaker, and a screening of the film, A lively faith discussion follows. We meet in the parish hall. For more info, contact Fr Jim Mayzik S.J. shepherd2@epiphanychurch.nyc
Alpha Program
Alpha is a unique “meet-you-where-you-are” course. Participants can benefit from the relaxed atmosphere and low-pressure setting. Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the basics of our Christian faith, typically run over eleven weeks. We don’t assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome.
Each weekly Alpha meeting consists of
1) A delicious, home-cooked meal (and time to meet new friends),
2) Screening of a short film which looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation.
3) A wide-ranging non-judgmental discussion of the ideas and themes in the film. This is the moment when the Holy Spirit truly does its work on all the participants!
FAITH IN CONTEXT
Every Sunday, the Scriptures proclaimed at Mass carry layers of meaning drawn from their original history, culture, and theology. Faith in Context at the Epiphany takes you behind the words to uncover those layers. Each week, we explore the setting of the readings—what was happening in the ancient world, how the first hearers would have understood them, and why the Church places them before us today. By seeing the bigger picture, we enter the liturgy with greater insight, a deeper appreciation for God’s Word, and a renewed sense of how it speaks to our lives here and now. Join us in the PARISH HALL each Sunday evening from 6pm to 7pm, just in time for the 7:30pm Mass.
Young Adult Mass
Following our FAITH IN CONTEXT PROGRAM, our 7:30PM Sunday YOUNG ADULT MASS is designed to be a deeply spiritual, reflective liturgy. It includes low key lighting with candles, meditative and worship music, with homilies that comfort and challenge. At the end of Mass the celebration continues with fellowship over pizza and spirited drinks. It is a wonderful way to end the weekend, and to be sent out into a new week as the Face of Love and Word of God to the world.

TAIZE PRAYER EVENING
Join us in our church for a beautiful evening of contemplative prayer and music. Taizé prayer is a meditative, communal form of Christian worship that originated from an ecumenical monastic community in Taizé, France. It is characterized by the use of simple, repetitive chants, scripture readings, and periods of silence in a candlelit atmosphere. The practice is designed to foster inner stillness, contemplation, and a sense of peace and unity among people of different Christian traditions. For more information, contact Director of Faith Formation, Samuel Newton faithformation@epiphanychurch.nyc

At CONNECT you’ll enjoy community, deepen your faith, and open yourself to the surprising ways the Holy Spirit works in our lives.
Millenn-X Meeting
Did you ever have a print magazine subscription? If so, then chances are high that Millenn-X, Epiphany's ministry for people in their 30s-50s, is for you! Our newest ministry group is focused on the spiritual and community interests of Catholics that span the ages of 30’s through 50’s. We meet every two weeks on Thursday evenings—the same night as our current Alpha Program—from 7pm to 9pm in Epiphany’s parish hall to discuss topics related to our Catholic faith, to pray, and to engage in service projects. Come join us for a homemade dinner, spiritual growth and warm fellowship.
CONNECT
Our weekly Connect Program provides a year-round engagement with peer parishioners who explore church teaching, theological perspectives, and spiritual traditions within the Church. A Connect meeting offers a delicious, free home-cooked meal, a presentation on faith formation, and a synodal discussion about the topic of the evening. You receive fellowship, learn more about your faith, and have the opportunity to experience the Holy Spirit working in the group!
