Taize Prayer
Join us in our church for a beautiful evening of contemplative prayer and music. Taizé prayer is a meditative, communal form of Christian worship that originated from an ecumenical monastic community in Taizé, France. It is characterized by the use of simple, repetitive chants, scripture readings, and periods of silence in a candlelit atmosphere. The practice is designed to foster inner stillness, contemplation, and a sense of peace and unity among people of different Christian traditions. The Breath Behind the Frame
For six Wednesdays beginning on April 22nd at 7pm in the Parish Hall, you are invited to a wonderful Easter program called The Breath Behind the Frame, a program which will break open the wondrous process of filmmaking and the participation of the Holy Spirit in that creative work. Over six weeks, you will learn the art and craft of visual storytelling, discover how the Holy Spirit moves through every step of a film’s creation, enjoy a practical education in the mechanics of filmmaking, and participate in conceiving a story idea, writing a treatment for a screenplay and producing a short teaser reel. No experience in filmmaking or any kind of visual art is required.
The series will be presented by Fr Jim Mayzik SJ, founder of the Film and Television Program at Fairfield University, Director of the Fairfield University Media Center. Fr Jim is an awardwinning director, producer and screenwriter.

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that allow you to explore the Christian faith, ask questions and share your point of view in a safe and friendly environment.
Sessions include:
Is there more to life than this?
Who is Jesus? Why did he die?
How can we have faith?
Why and how do I read the bible?
What about the church?
How does it work?
Each session includes food, a short video and a discussion at the end where you can share your thoughts. At any point, if you think Alpha isn't for you, that's not a problem.
There's no pressure and no charge.
The course runs for 12 weeks. And there is a wonderful 24 hour offsite retreat that involves a hike, a Mass, delicious dinners, and the visit of. the Holy Spirit! Come to the first one and see if it’s for you.
This is a great place to invite a friend who may be curious about the Christian faith. The Alpha course has proven to be an effective tool for awakening faith in people who are on the fringe of parish life, faithful Catholics and those outside the faith.
